A premier Abu Dhabi nephrology and transplant centre is recruiting a Consultant Nephrologist with expertise in advanced CKD management, dialysis, and kidney transplantation. The department operates a large haemodialysis unit, peritoneal dialysis programme, and active renal transplant follow-up service with links to an accredited transplant surgical team.

About the Role

This is a senior clinical appointment offering the opportunity to lead complex CKD, dialysis, and post-transplant care in a specialist tertiary environment. The successful candidate will contribute to the renal MDT, oversee the dialysis unit, and participate in academic activities including clinical research.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead outpatient nephrology clinics managing CKD stages 3–5, IgA nephropathy, lupus nephritis, diabetic nephropathy, and hypertensive renal disease
• Manage haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis patients including programme initiation, prescription adjustments, and complication management
• Supervise the post-renal transplant follow-up clinic in collaboration with transplant surgery
• Conduct renal biopsies and interpret histopathological findings in conjunction with renal pathology
• Provide inpatient nephrology consultation for AKI, electrolyte emergencies, and dialysis-requiring conditions
• Lead and participate in the renal MDT with transplant surgery, urology, and dietetics
• Contribute to renal quality improvement, dialysis standards audit, and service development
• Supervise nephrology fellows and renal nursing staff in clinical and procedural skills

Requirements & Qualifications

• Medical degree with full postgraduate training in Nephrology
• Fellowship or Consultant-grade certification (FRCP Nephrology, ASN membership, Arab Board, or equivalent)
• Minimum 8 years post-specialist experience including dialysis unit management and transplant follow-up
• DOH Consultant-grade eligibility or existing DOH Nephrology license
• Proficiency in renal biopsy and dialysis access management
• Experience managing a renal transplant follow-up programme
• Subspecialty interest in glomerulonephritis, HD adequacy, or peritoneal dialysis preferred
• Strong record in clinical governance and team leadership
