A major Dubai Level-1 trauma and emergency centre is recruiting a Specialist Emergency Medicine Physician to join its high-performing emergency department team. The department manages over 150,000 patient visits per year, with dedicated resuscitation bays, a fast-track area, a paediatric emergency zone, and strong support from in-house surgery, critical care, and cardiology services.

About the Role

This role offers a dynamic, high-acuity emergency medicine environment. The successful candidate will manage the full spectrum of undifferentiated emergency presentations, lead resuscitation teams, perform emergency procedures, and contribute to departmental leadership and education.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, resuscitate, and manage critically ill and injured adult and paediatric patients in the resuscitation area
• Lead trauma team activations including primary and secondary survey, haemorrhage control, and damage control resuscitation
• Manage acute cardiac emergencies, stroke alerts, sepsis protocols, and toxicological presentations
• Perform emergency procedures including RSI/intubation, central venous access, chest decompression, focused ultrasound, and procedural sedation
• Supervise and support EM residents, nurses, and paramedics in the department
• Contribute to triage protocol development, patient flow management, and ED quality metrics
• Participate in simulation training, resuscitation drills, and departmental education programmes
• Engage in clinical audit, morbidity review, and emergency medicine governance

Requirements & Qualifications

• Medical degree with postgraduate specialty training in Emergency Medicine
• Specialist-grade qualification (FRCEM, FCEM, ABEM board-eligible, Arab Board EM, or equivalent)
• Minimum 3 years post-specialist experience in a high-volume adult or mixed emergency department
• DHA Specialist-grade eligibility or existing DHA Emergency Medicine license
• Current ATLS provider, ACLS/ALS, and PALS or APLS certifications
• Proficiency in emergency ultrasound (FAST, pneumothorax, cardiac, vascular access)
• Resuscitation leadership skills and the ability to perform under high-pressure clinical conditions
• Strong communication skills for patient, family, and multidisciplinary team interaction
