General Practitioner – Urgent Care | Dubai, UAE
A high-volume urgent care and primary care centre in Dubai is looking for a motivated General Practitioner to join its clinical team. The facility operates extended hours and sees a broad mix of acute presentations, occupational health cases, and chronic disease management across a large registered patient population.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a GP who thrives in a fast-paced, varied environment. You will manage a wide range of undifferentiated presentations, provide immediate care for acute conditions, and establish ongoing relationships with patients requiring chronic disease management and preventive care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and manage a wide range of acute, urgent, and chronic medical presentations in an outpatient and urgent care setting
- Triage and prioritise patients appropriately based on clinical urgency
- Perform minor procedures including wound suturing, joint aspiration, and IV cannulation where required
- Prescribe medications appropriately in line with DHA formulary and UAE prescribing regulations
- Refer complex cases to appropriate specialist services with clear clinical summaries
- Maintain thorough, contemporaneous medical records in the EMR system
- Participate in preventive care programmes including health screening, vaccination, and lifestyle counselling
- Contribute to clinical governance, audit, and departmental quality improvement activities
Requirements & Qualifications
- Medical degree (MBBS, MBChB, MD or equivalent) from a recognised university
- Postgraduate qualification in General Practice, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine (preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of post-internship clinical experience, with at least 1 year in a GP or urgent care setting
- DHA GP-grade eligibility or existing DHA license
- Ability to work in a shift-based, extended-hours urgent care environment
- Competency in common GP procedures and emergency stabilisation
- Good clinical documentation skills and EMR proficiency
- Professional, patient-focused communication style with the ability to manage a diverse international patient base
