A leading tertiary care hospital in Abu Dhabi is recruiting a Specialist Neurologist to join its established Neurology and Neuroscience department. The department manages a comprehensive range of neurological conditions and has strong links with the hospital’s neurosurgery, neuroradiology, and rehabilitation teams.

About the Role

This role offers broad clinical exposure to general neurology with subspecialty interest in stroke, movement disorders, or epilepsy considered a significant advantage. The hospital is equipped with advanced neuroimaging, dedicated stroke unit beds, an EMG/NCV laboratory, and an EEG department.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct general neurology outpatient clinics managing patients with headache, epilepsy, movement disorders, dementia, peripheral neuropathy, and multiple sclerosis
• Provide inpatient neurology consultation for stroke, encephalitis, Guillain-Barré syndrome, status epilepticus, and other acute neurological emergencies
• Perform and interpret EMG/NCV studies, EEG recordings, and lumbar puncture procedures
• Lead and participate in the weekly neurology MDT with neurosurgery and neuroradiology
• Manage the stroke pathway in collaboration with the acute stroke unit and interventional neuroradiology team
• Supervise residents and interns in the management of acute neurological presentations
• Participate in clinical audit, protocol review, and departmental governance
• Contribute to patient education and community outreach programmes

Requirements & Qualifications

• Medical degree with specialist training in Neurology from a recognised institution
• Postgraduate certification in Neurology (MRCP Neurology, Arab Board, FRCP, or equivalent)
• Minimum 3 years post-specialist experience in a hospital-based neurology practice
• DOH Specialist-grade eligibility or existing DOH/HAAD Neurology license
• Proficiency in EMG/NCV, EEG interpretation, and LP procedures
• Subspecialty interest in stroke, epilepsy, or movement disorders preferred
• Strong analytical and communication skills for complex case management
• Experience in a tertiary referral or academic medical centre is an advantage
